Or how to have a glow up. The word ‘glow up’ is commonly used in situations where a person has become better, more attractive, confident, etc.
What you should know is that…
You need to be happy with yourself, if you are not then there is no point of trying to glow up because you will constantly be worrying about your flaws and what people think of you instead of just enjoying the process.
All these glow up tips are going to help you not only physically but mentally as well so your life in general can improve as well.
How to glow up physically
To glow up physically you need to make sure that your diet consists of 90% vegetables and 10% carbs/protein.
Some people may tell you that you must eat 70% carbs/protein to burn fat and that it’s necessary but your body doesn’t require this excess of energy.
Before cutting down on carbs or increasing the amount of veggies you eat, It is vital to understand how much energy you need in order to figure out how many calories from nutrients (the main components of food) you require.
For example, if you are physically active then you probably need more than 3,000 calories a day so don’t be scared to eat those healthy fats and carbs .
2. Drink lots of water
Drinking enough water is important for your glow up. Water helps flush toxins out of your body which increases the rate at which you glow up.
Also, when you drink enough water your body maintains a healthy balance of fluids and if this balance isn’t maintained then you can experience headaches or even worse suffer from heat stroke or dehydration which could be fatal as well.
A lot of people underestimate how important sleep is not only for our mental health but also for our physical.
A good night’s sleep helps the body repair itself as well as flush out toxins which means you glow up while you are asleep .
I said that this article isn’t going to be about how to get definition muscles or a six-pack, it is going to focus on what exercises you should do to glow up not only physically but mentally as well.
Some people think that the gym is the only place they can go to in order to exercise but other activities such as walking and jogging are just as effective.
5. Take a break from all of your favourite social media channels
Social media is great for getting up-to-date information about things you love, however spending too much time on social media will keep you in a negative state of mind and can be distracting when it comes to glow up because then it’s not about how you feel but how many likes or shares you get.
When it comes to glow up the most important thing is how you feel, however if you have a lot of likes on your post then other people will think that you must be doing something right so this can put pressure on some people to perform and make them feel bad about themselves when they don’t receive as many likes as other people.
As a side note, if you are having trouble de-cluttering your social media then try doing it in this way: delete the unnecessary apps from your phone and get rid of old pictures every couple of days.
6. Drink coffee with lots of water (after exercising):
Coffee is great for helping to glow up because it increases your metabolism. You can drink coffee if you exercise in the morning but try not to drink too much because of the caffeine content (caffeine is only healthy in small amounts).
Drinking lots of water while drinking coffee helps flush out toxins and rather than taking an energy crash after drinking a lot of caffeine it will carry on increasing your metabolism so that you glow up.
However, if you are on the go all day then having coffee is a great idea because it will wake you up and give you energy for the rest of your day.
6. Slow down on the Junk Food
I know that most people really enjoy junk food and it can be hard to give it up, but you must if you want to glow up
Junk food is high in carbohydrates and fat so replacing your unhealthy snacks with healthier alternatives is a great way to glow up.
Junk food is also very addictive which makes giving it up difficult because once you have become accustomed to eating it every day then you will suffer from withdrawal symptoms.
However, if you know your resolutions are strong enough in order to glow up then give up fast food and replace them with healthier alternatives like yogurt or fruit .
In conclusion, glowing up is all about how much energy you get from the nutrients you intake as well as how much energy you put out.
It’s not all about how big your muscles are or how many times you can do push ups, it’s about how good you feel both mentally and physically . Glow up!

A very important glow up tip is that you meditate. I’m sure that you’ve heard this one before but it’s because it’s so true (one of my glow up mentors told me).
Meditation does wonders for your mental health and it will allow you to glow up from within. Here’s how you can practice mefitation.
8. Practice gratitude
Doing this will make your life way better and you’ll glow up from within just by realizing how good you have it. Here is a list of gratitude you can use.
Laughing is such a good way to glow up that I believe everyone should do this at least once a day, but it’s even more important if you are feeling down or stressed out because by laughing it causes your body to produce endorphins which make you happy and relaxed .
10. Gratitude Journal
There are many ways to practice gratitude, one of the most popular is called the gratitude journal.
A gratitude journal is a way for you to write down three things that you’re grateful for everyday. This exercise helps train your brain to recognize all the good things in life and it’s also a good way to reflect on how lucky you are.
Similar to the gratitude journal, writing can be a great way to glow up from within and help you make sense of your thoughts. Writing helps us understand our feelings as well as exercise our brain muscles .
There are many ways that we could write such as writing in a diary or writing a story.
12.Start Using Affirmations
Affirmations are positive phrases that you repeat to yourself, they can be said in the morning when you wake up or at night before bed.
Affirmations are a great way to glow up from within and I believe they work because we give more energy to words that we say ourselves rather than listening to someone else say them (so if someone tells us that we are crazy, we just brush it off because they don’t know us and therefore their words shouldn’t effect how we feel about ourselves). By repeating affirmations to yourself, you begin to believe what you are saying.
Here are some examples of positive affirmations: I am a beautiful person on the inside and out, I am enough, I can strong, etc.
13. Have fun
I’m sure you’ve heard this one before as well, which is because it’s so true!
It’s important to embrace the present and have fun. Don’t be afraid to do something goofy or embarrassing because sometimes that’s what life is all about – having fun and doing crazy or a blog, but the main point is that we write saying something about ourselves and how we feel about the world.
14. Don’t talk bad about yourself
A lot of people have the habit of talking negatively about themselves with their friends or family but it’s important not to do this .
Talking negatively can be as damaging as being physically abusive towards yourself , so once you start talking badly about your body, your mind begins.
To believe that your body is bad and doesn’t deserve to glow up therefore every time you look in the mirror you see something bad .
Another way to glow up from within is by listening to music. Now, I’m not talking about listening to just any old type of music or song because you should listen to uplifting music that will make you feel good.
Music allows us to express ourselves as well as how we’re feeling and it could have a very positive impact on our lives if we just take the time to listen .
I know that reading is something that’ll help you glow up in ways that many of you might not expect!
There are many ways that reading will help you glow up one of them is by helping you relax and wind down.
17. Take a walk:
Another way to glow up is to get outside, go for a walk or do something else that will make you feel happy and good about yourself.
You could even plant some flowers or take care of plants , but it’s important that you spend time outside with nature.
18. Talk to someone
If you are feeling anxious , depressed , or stressed out, talking to someone might help more than you think .
A lot of times we don’t want to talk about how we feel because we’re afraid of being judged; however, when you do open up to someone that person will be able to help you glow up from within .
19. Help others
Another great way to glow up is by helping others because this can have a positive impact on your life as well! A lot of people feel better about themselves when they put their energy towards helping others including myself.
20. Get rid of toxic people
If you have a few friends or family members who do not have your best interests at heart then it’s time to get rid of them because they are holding you back from achieving your goals and dreams.
21. Connect with nature
Nature has a way of making us feel energized, alive and connected with the Earth.
22. Take care of yourself
This point might seem like it doesn’t belong on this list because we should be taking care of ourselves no matter what; however, I included this in my list because sometimes we forget to take care of our physical selves.
Taking good care of yourself goes a long way, including wearing clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable and eating healthy.
23. Avoid drugs and alcohol
While some people might believe that drugs or alcohol will help us glow up, they really don’t because when we’re under the influence of drugs and alcohol we are unable to make sound decisions which isn’t a good thing.
It’s important for us to remember not to use these substances as an answer to our problems
24. Learn something new
Another great way to glow up is by learning a language , playing an instrument or taking on any other type of hobby because this will get your brain working, give you a sense of accomplishment and allow you to meet new people .
